Hidden Disabilities

I have experienced what it's like to live with a Hidden Disability aka the "non visible" disability. I have decided that it's about time to bring some much needed attention to this. Many people look at me and say "Wow I didn't know you have a disability". I've gotten used to it and usually laugh it off and say "I'm the new face of the disabled".

Historically, when you said you had a disability people attributed it to being physically impaired "handicapped". That was kind of like the norm. Nowadays, this isn't solely the case. Disabilities just like people come in all kinds of severities and there's still much more that needs to be learned.

There's an array of disabilities that are currently affecting people. You wouldn't know they even had a medical condition. I will start with some of mine. I have Fibromyalgia and Ridiculapathy for over 10 years. These two alone can at times be very debilitating. That's why I know first hand that unless someone knew my history they wouldn't think anything was medically occurring.

Now, I have created a group that I will be coaching on this very issue. It will allow others with Hidden Disabilities to come speak honestly and openly about what's going on with them. Through coaching I will be able to show the members how I was able to move ahead in my life in spite of my condition. This occurred through determination, motivation and a desire to not have my disability take control of my destiny. I knew that I needed to do something about it, and I have. It's called LIVING LIFE! I welcome you to do the same. Throughout these blogs I will talk more in depth about this and other matters that I hope you can learn from.
